General Information

Pech Bernou

LOCATION

Looking over the 'village green' this lovely old house is now a wonderful family holiday home. Situated in the centre of a small, peaceful very pretty hamlet the house has bags of character, but is airy and spacious with room to be together or be apart.

The wonderful thing about Pech Bernou is that there is separate self contained accommodation provided in the 'Bread Oven' (which had been the local bar/cafe for years) if you want Grandma and Grandad to come along or for the teenagers to have more independence.

ACCOMODATION

Entering the property on the first floor via stone steps you enter the comfortable lounge with TV and log burning stove. This leads to the very large, well equipped kitchen/dining room; providing enough space for all the family to dine together easily. There is also a convenient toilet available on this floor.

From here steps lead up via an impressive staircase to the three bedrooms in the main house and down in to the cellar where the washer and drier are kept. This is where the bikes are stored and you are welcome to use them at your own risk.

Upstairs the three bedrooms are spacious, the first being more like a family room with a cot provided should you need it. The second bedroom has twin beds; the third is the master bedroom which is large and airy and has an unusual en-suite. There is a family bathroom on this floor too.

All the rooms are simply furnished but comfortable and welcoming, with several quirky features which make this an interesting place to holiday.

EXTERIOR

The large, alarmed private pool area is in the garden nearby, it is totally secluded, with the garden linking the 'Bread Oven' to the pool area. There is space here to enjoy an alfresco meal in the shade of the established trees.

The 'Bread Oven' situated with the garden across the lane has one room on the gound floor providing lounge and kitchen facilities, with an up-stairs that has a double bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of space for Grandma and Grandad!

As the house is near enough for an energetic cycle to the patisserie and the local lake which provides numerous activities, while a car is essential to enjoy the area, you don't have to use it every day if you don't want to.

Ideally situated between the medieval villages of Najac and Corde sur Ciel and 20 minutes from the vibrant market town of Villefrance and the spectacular St Antonin Noble Val ( backdrop to the films 'Charlotte Grey' and more recently 'The Hundred Foot Journey' starring Helen Mirren), there is easy access to restaurants, shops and the renowned traditional markets - assuming you can drag yourself away from the pool.
